Director's Glimpse
How it Started
Growing up in Campbeltown, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by incredible landscapes, fascinating history and, most importantly, a community unlike any other.
Like many people who leave home, it wasn't until later in life that I truly began to appreciate just how special the town really is.
The idea for Scotland's Edge came to me while cruising the canals aboard my narrowboat. As I travelled through towns and villages across the UK, I found myself thinking about the stories behind each place, and how Campbeltown has so many remarkable people, businesses and traditions that deserve to be shared with a wider audience.
It was in that moment that the vision for the series was born.
The first person I contacted was Cheryl Lang. Having grown up in Campbeltown herself, I knew her local knowledge, passion for the town and community connections would be invaluable in helping shape the project. It didn't take long for her to share the same excitement and come on board as Producer and Local Researcher.
As the project continued to develop, I approached Sarah Adams, whose wealth of television production experience and editorial insight has already become an incredible asset to the team. Having Cheryl's local expertise alongside Sarah's industry knowledge gives the series a strong foundation as we move forward.
This is just the beginning of what I hope will become a long-term journey, celebrating communities across Scotland through authentic documentary storytelling. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the project so far, and I can't wait to see where this adventure takes us.
